Laurence Sallenave, Marcel Gimond’s great-niece, knew him closely throughout her childhood. As the holder of the artist’s moral rights, she alone is authorised to authenticate a work and issue a certificate, following a physical examination of the work. Each enquiry is handled confidentially and recorded. There is no fee; financial valuations are not provided.
Individuals, art dealers, auction houses and institutions may request the examination of a work attributed to Marcel Gimond. Submit the available information and documents using the work-submission form. An initial review of the file precedes a physical examination where one is needed.
Provide your first name, surname and email, your role as owner or representative, and your city and country.
Give the title, date and medium if known. Enter “unknown” where necessary.
Measure the sculpture without its base: height, width and depth in centimetres. For a work on paper, measure the unframed sheet.
Include available documents: provenance, previous owners, invoice, certificate, catalogue or correspondence.
Add clear colour photographs: overall views, back or reverse, signature, inscriptions and marks. For an edition, include the title page and limitation statement.
Phone photographs are suitable if details are legible. No printed photographs, CD or USB drive are required. Do not ship a work without written instructions.
The estate is currently preparing the Marcel Gimond catalogue raisonné. Collectors, museums and others with information can contribute by reporting works or sharing archives. Material received is reviewed and documented as part of this work.
Submitting documents does not transfer their ownership or rights in photographs. Publication requires a separate agreement. Your contact details will not be published without your agreement.
One submission per work. There is no fee; a certificate requires physical examination. Financial valuations are not provided.
